Beware of Politicians Talking About Guns

It's difficult to know what to say about the terrible events in Cumbria yesterday apart from expressing sheer horror and sympathy for the victims and their families. In circumstances like this, politicians feel the urgent need to say and do something. Anything. They should resist the temptation. Terrible deeds like this happen every so often. They can't be explained. They have absolutely nothing to do with the state of our gun laws. Quite simply, an individual flipped. Nothing could have been done to prevent it, little can be done to explain it. So if you hear a politician calling for our gun laws to be reviewed or strengthened you will be hearing a politician jerking his/her knee. - Continue...
